Year in Review: 2021
Thank you for your support in 2021! We pray God will bless you beyond measure and fill you with joy, health, and peace! The past year was full of challenges and trying times for many as the pandemic continued; however, God’s love, faithfulness, and grace remained a beacon of light and hope for all who put their trust in Him.
Your generosity makes it possible to fulfill our mission. Our community garden, created in the fall of 2020, continues to bless local youth and families living at or below the poverty line in the middle of a food desert. In 2021, we grew and gave away over 530 pounds of produce to foster healthy living and help those in need. To view pictures of our garden and more from 2021, click here.
We are extremely thankful for the nearly 50 volunteers who logged over 750 hours in 2021. Volunteers cultivated the garden, maintained the property, and built various projects to improve the facility. Supporters from Florida to California gave generously of their time, talent, and resources, but most importantly, continued to pray for our ministry and the work God is doing in our communities. PLFM remains 100% volunteer led and operated—every dollar received goes directly to our programs benefiting the youth and families we serve.
Significant improvements are being made around the property so we can better serve our community. We added a 50’ x 84’ multi-purpose barn to provide a large open-air space for educational activities, a 20’ x 24’ horticulture shed to store garden tools & supplies, and nearly 2,000 feet of fence with gated entry to create a safe and secure learning environment.
Your continued prayers and support are welcomed and appreciated as we set out to reach our goals in 2022! We are believing God for several major facility improvements such as classroom/office space, restrooms, and a livestock barn. In addition, we are planning several special events and programs to reach numerous youth and their families.
Please know you are in our prayers, and we desire God’s very best for you! May you be blessed and encouraged by God’s Word, “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him” (Romans 15:13 NLT).
