Are You Living in the Promised Land?
The Bible is full of God’s promises for our life, yet too often we are not experiencing all He has for us. And if we are not careful, we will wander through life searching for a greater calling and purpose. In Joshua 5:6, God’s chosen people wandered in the wilderness for 40 years and were not able to enter into the Promised Land. This is a land that was promised to them (Genesis 17:8). In Ezekiel 20:6, it’s described as a land flowing with milk and honey, the most glorious of all lands. The Lord had searched out this place specifically for them. So, then why couldn’t they enter? Fear. Which resulted in a lack of trust in God and disobedience toward God. That entire generation never obtained what God wanted them to have.
What does God want you to have? He wants to lead you into your own special promised land! God wants to bless every area of your life (Philippians 4:19) and do exceedingly more than we could imagine (Ephesians 3:20). In order to enter into the promised land He has for us, we must recognize it is bigger than us. We are going to need Him—walking in faith and obedience to the place He is calling us. Yes, there will be obstacles and moments you feel like giving in—doubt and fear will try and overtake your mind. Thoughts that say you are unworthy and undeserving of living in the promised land.
God will bring you out of places you don’t need to be (Ur, Chaldeans Gen. 15:7 Egypt)
God has land (things) He wants to give us… but we will never receive them if we don’t listen to His voice Joshua 5:6
Judges 2:1-And an angel of the Lord came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you.
In order to receive the better things God has for you, you must be willing to leave some things behind (bad relationship, family, job, possessions, etc.) You have to trust that what He has for you is better than what you have now.
